Show me your mercy,
We need your mercy,
This is that hour you are waiting for.
And this is that hour when the message of the Lord will speak for you. And this is that hour when the blessings of God will flow like rivers of water. And so I want to welcome you to this great day.
Even this very program, even this very session. And I want to assure you, you are not leaving here the way you came. We are not wasting time.
So fasten your seatbelt because we are heading to somewhere this blessed hour. Open your hymn books to hymn number 84. The music ministers will help us to bring this message across as we sing hymn number 84.
Rock of ages cleft for me. Let me hide myself in thee. Let the water and the blood from thy riven side with flow.
Be of sin the double cure. Cleanse me from its guilt and power. Before then I’m going to tell you the story behind this song.
Long ago, a Christian was traveling, riding on his horse. And along the line there was this thunder storm. There was this terrible rain.
Everywhere was dark. And suddenly there came this lightning. And when the lightning came, this man was able to see a rock ahead of him.
By that time he was so drenched. And then he prayed to the Lord asking him, let this lightning come again. Let it come in such a way that I’ll be able to see with it so I can reach this rock.
And the lightning came. And he saw with it and was able to make it to that rock. And when he got there, he saw an opening in the rock and entered there.
And found a shelter in that rock. And while he was there, enjoying that shelter, the hand of God came upon him. And then he began to say, rock of ages, cleft for me.
What this rock is to me, let it be what you will be to me. And so, when we sing it now with understanding, so that as we sing it, our faith will rise to the rock of ages. And so today, he will cleft for us.
And so today, the water and the blood that flowed from his living side will do the work it is meant to do. Will achieve what it is meant to achieve in our life. Rock of ages, cleft for me.
Be of sin the double cure. Please me from all misuse and war. But the labor of my hands Can fulfill thy last demands.
Good my zeal, no respite, no. Good my tears, forever flow. All for sin could not atone.
Thou must save and thou alone. For thee in my hand I bring. Simply to thy cross I cling.
Naked come to thee for dress. Helpless look to thee for grace. Call I to the fount in life.
Wash me, Savior, all I love. This fleeting rest, this closing dance. Pray thy soul to earth’s unknown.
See thee all thy judgments drawn. Anxious, cleft for me. Lest thee hide myself in tears.
Thou must save and thou alone. Thou must save and thou alone. Jesus! Thou must save and thou alone.
Oh yes! We are not to save, we are not to. Thou must save and thou alone. Oh Lord, you who save us.
Thou must save and thou alone. Thou must save and thou alone. Lord, we need you.
Thou must save and thou alone. You come and save us. By whom shall Jacob arise? Is it not by the Lord? Except the Lord build the city, what can the builders do? Except the Lord watch over the city, what can the watchmen do? Except the Lord save his people, is there any other savior? If the Lord fails to heal his people, is there any person that can heal them? If the Lord fails to recover his people, who will recover them? Nobody.
Great Father, and so we look upon to you, as the eyes of the servant wait on the hands of the master, and as the eyes of the maids look unto the hand of their madam, so we look upon to you until you show us mercy. Dear Father, this blessed day we come, looking upon to you for your mercy, knowing that thou must save, and thou alone. If you refuse to save, Lord, our own has ended, but you are the father of mercy’s precious father.
You are still sitting on your mercy seat, therefore your mercy must flow, and this blessed day we come to the throne of grace. We have come that we might find mercy and grace in this time of need. Therefore, Lord, come.
Come, O Lord, we need your glory, we are waiting upon you. Come, O Lord, we need your glory, we are waiting upon you. I say, come, O Lord, we need your presence, we are waiting upon you.
Oh yes, come, Jesus, Lord, we need your mercy, we are waiting upon you. I say, come, O Lord, we need your glory, we are waiting upon you. O Lord, we come nearer, nearer to thee, Lord, as we come closer to see your glory.
We just want to be wherever you are, keep us closer to thee. As we come nearer, nearer to thee, Lord, as we come closer to see your glory. We just want to be wherever you are, keep us closer to thee.
Jehovah, my Lord will bless you today. Jehovah, Jehovah will bless you and show. I say, Jehovah, Jehovah will bless you today.
Oh, Jehovah, Jehovah will bless you and show. I say, Jehovah, Jehovah will bless you today. Jehovah, Jehovah will bless you and show.
Jehovah, Jehovah will bless you and show. Jehovah will show you mercy Jehovah, Jehovah will show you mercy Sing it now Jehovah will show you mercy Jehovah, Jehovah will show you mercy He will show you mercy Jehovah will show you mercy He will show you mercy Jehovah will show you mercy He is the father of mercy Jehovah, will show you mercy He is the father of mercy He will show you mercy about to come on you. to a rainbow sacred throne.
And open the scroll, dear Lord. Open our eyes to see clearly what you want us to see. And bless me, this congregation.
And let this day be a remarkable day. Even a day to remember. This is my prayer.
This is my expectation. And I believe you that you have answered. Blessed be God forevermore.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen. You can now be seated.
I want to welcome you to this special hour. And this hour is going to be a wonderful hour. And like I said, like I told the Lord while praying, it’s going to be a time to remember.
I want you to open your Bible to 2 Corinthians. 2 Corinthians chapter number 1. I want to read from verse 1 to 3. Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God. And Timothy, our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth.
With all the saints which are in all Achaia. Grace be to you. And peace from God our Father.
And from the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be God. Even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Father of mercies. And the God of all comfort. Who comforted us in all our tribulation.
That we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble. By the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. It is from these verses of the scriptures that I bring you God’s word.
Titled the Father of mercies. The Father of mercies. It has pleased the Lord that this day we talk about him from a particular angle.
We talk about him in such a way that his people will have a better understanding of who he is. Sometime ago a pastor, the man of God gave a message titled you are what you know as well as what you don’t know. So what we know about God matters a lot.
As that is what will determine how far will we go in our relationship with God. You remember Paul the Apostle despite the fact that he has known the Lord for some time. But when he came to Philippians chapter 3 verse 10 he cried.
Oh that I might know him and know the power of his resurrection. He knows the importance of knowing the Lord. The importance of having sufficient knowledge of the Lord.
And our master Jesus before he’s left this planet earth prayed for his disciples and prayed for us by extension. In John chapter 17 I read from verse 1 to verse 3. This word spake Jesus and lifted up his eyes to heaven and said father the hour is come glorify thy son that thy son also may glorify thee. As thou has given him power over all flesh which will give eternal life to as many as thou has given him.
And this is life eternal that they might know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. He prayed that the eyes of understanding of the believers might be opened to know the father and to know the son for that is life eternal. If it is not important he will not pray that prayer.
And in Psalm 103 verse 7 the Bible talked about Moses and the children of Israel that God made known his ways unto Moses and his acts unto the children of Israel. Moses knew the ways of the Lord as well as the acts of the Lord but the children of Israel knew only his acts. And whenever the miraculous things cease, whenever they are not seeing the acts of God again you see them rebelling.
But the man who knew the ways of the Lord continued to be steadfast, continued to follow the Lord even till the end. So there is something that the Lord wants us to know about him and the knowledge we are talking about is not mental knowledge. It is an awareness about God.
An awareness that leads to positive actions. An awareness that leads to positive confessions. An awareness that leads to victory.
Before David died he spoke to his son Solomon. In 1st Chronicles chapter 28 he spoke to Solomon his son and in verse 9 and thou Solomon my son know thou the God of thy father and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind for the Lord searched all hearts and understood all the imaginations of the thoughts. If thou seek him he will be found of thee but if thou forsake him he will cast thee off.
Solomon cannot serve the Lord. Solomon cannot serve the Lord with a perfect heart. Solomon cannot serve the Lord with a willing mind until he has come to know the Lord.
And so there are things we need to know about the Lord. Many, many, many things. And today we are going to see him as the father of messes and I want each and every one of us to pay attention because God has something to say.
In our text in 2nd Corinthians chapter 1 you find out that Apostle Paul did not address God as a merciful father. Rather he addressed him as the father of messes. Follow me.
He did not address him as a merciful father. He rather addressed him as the father of messes. A merciful father is one who has and who shows mercy.
But the father of messes means something else. Merciful father is a father. He can show mercy.
He has mercy and God actually is a merciful father. But the Lord will want us to see something deeper. That he is not just a merciful father but that he is the father of messes.
Now the Hebrews use the word father often to denote the author or source of anything. The author. When they say that this person is the father of this, they are simply saying that this person is the author of this thing and this person is a kind of the source of this thing.
So the idea here is that messes proceed from God and that God is the source of it. Messes proceed from God. It’s not just that God is showing mercy.
No. He shows mercy but he wants us to know that messes proceeds from him. He is the source of messy.
It originates from him and he is the fountain of messes. He is the fountain of messes. Take note of that.
He is the fountains of messes. He is the source. He is the originator.
He is the womb that produces messy. And because he is the source, because he is the fountain, because he’s the originator of messes, he has messy in abundance. And that is the reason why he is not just called the father of messy but the father of messes.
Not singular but plural. Go back to our text in 2nd Corinthians chapter 1. Let’s see something there. 2nd Corinthians chapter 1 and verse 3. Blessed be God, even the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of what? Messes.
Take note of that. The father of messes and the God of all comfort. The father of messes.
He has messy in water abundance. He is the source. He is the fountain.
He is the originator of water messes. And David the Psalmist had this understanding and as a result of that he will always approach God with this understanding. You may wonder why this man enjoyed God so much.
You may wonder why this man benefited from God so much. You may wonder why this man became so close to God. He had an understanding.
He had a particular knowledge about God that helped him, that enabled him to be close to God and to enjoy serving God, worshiping God, and fellowshipping with God. What did he understand? Look at the Bible. Psalm 5. Psalm 5, as I read in verse 7, he was speaking.
He said, as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy, and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. I will come into thy house in what? In the multitude of thy mercies. That was the mind with which he appeared before God.
That was the mind with which he approached God. In the multitude, meaning in the abundance of your messes. I am coming before you to take advantage of what? The multitude of your messes.
Chapter 69, Psalms. Chapter 69, I read verse number 13 and 16. But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O Lord, in unacceptable time, O God, in the multitude of thy mercy, hear me in truth of thy salvation.
Look at verse 16. Hear me, O Lord, for thy loving kindness is good. Turn unto me according to what? The multitude of thy tender mercies.
Tender mercies. Multitude. In the same chapter, he has mentioned the multitude of his mercy.
And so he was approaching God with this awareness. I am approaching the father of mercies. The one that has mercy in abundance.
Chapter 89, the same Psalm. Chapter 89, and verse 1. Not only was he approaching him, look at what he was doing. I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever.
And with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all world generations. Look at verse 2. For I have said, mercy shall be built up forever. Thy faithfulness shall thou establish in the very heavens.
So not only was he approaching God in the multitude of his mercies, you see him singing of the mercies of the Lord. Talking about it. Musing about it.
Meditating about it. Singing it in his songs. Talking it.
And the thing becoming so real to him. The awareness was there in his heart. I am dealing with the father of mercies.
I am dealing with the one who is the fountain. The originator. The source of mercies.
And so whenever he goes before the Lord, he goes with this awareness. He goes with this understanding. And the next thing is blessings.
The next thing is favor. The next thing is the goodness and the mercies of the Lord following him. Now, some Hebrew and Greek words translated mercies will help us to understand more.
Or will help us to understand what the Bible means by the mercies of the Lord. One, there is this Hebrew word rakam. R-A-C-H-A-M.
Rakam means, it was translated mercy. But it also means bowels. It means compassion.
Tender love. Pity. And the mercy.
Now, the second Hebrew word is chesed. C-H-E-S-E-D. Chesed also means goodness.
It also means kindness. It also means faithfulness. Come to the New Testament and then you begin to see the Greek word oikthemos.
Oikthemos. O-I-K-T-I-R-M-O-S. Oikthemos means compassion.
It means pity. It means mercy. If anybody has oikthemos, it means that the person has bowels in which compassion resides.
And then the next Hebrew word is eleo. E-L-E-E-O. It simply means to have mercy.
It simply means to help one that is afflicted or one that is seeking aid. That was exactly what blind Bathymos was crying. O eleo.
Eleo. Son of David. Eleo.
Son of David. Eleo. Which was translated have mercy upon me.
Which simply means help me. I am afflicted. Help me out of this my condition.
Help me. I need aid. I need succor.
And so from all that I’ve just said now, you find out that mercy has to do with the attributes of God. Attribute of compassion. He is compassionate.
He has pity. As the father pitieth his children. So that the Lord our God pity us.
For he knoweth our frame. He knows our incapacitations, our inabilities. The God whom we serve is full of goodness.
He’s full of kindness. He’s full of tender mercies. This is his nature.
Listen. Assuming that God be a product manufactured in a particular factory. One of the raw materials with which he was manufactured is this attribute of mercy.
Compassion. Pity. Love.
Kindness. And he is the source. He is the fountain.
He is the originator. It flows from him. He is not managing to show mercy.
He’s not managing to be compassionate. We have not a high priest who is not touched with the feelings of our infirmities. He is touched with the feelings of our infirmities.
It pains him to see his people weeping. It pains him to hear his people crying. It pains him to see his people in pain.
It pains him to see his people afflicted. And he is moved. God has feelings.
He has emotions. You can make, some things can make him happy. Some things can make him sad.
Some things can make him angry. Some things can grieve him. And at the same time there are things he will see.
His bowels of compassion, his mercies will flow. And so we are serving the father of mercies. That is the God whom we serve.
So God is not only the fountain and the originator of these attributes, but he has them in abundance and wants to express them. He wants to express it. In Exodus chapter 34, he spoke to Moses and verse number six, and the Lord passed by before him and proclaimed, the Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that we by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and upon the children’s children unto the third and the fourth generation.
Look at him, keeping mercy for thousands. He is merciful. He is gracious.
He is long-suffering. He is abundant. Abundant in goodness.
Abundant in truth. Abundant in mercy. And in Ephesians chapter two, Ephesians two, I read what the apostle Paul said by the spirit of God.
And verse four, but God who is rich, hallelujah, who is rich in mercy, for his great love, we are with him loved us. Rich in mercy. Rich, not poor.
Rich. The Bible said he is what? Rich in mercy, meaning he has mercy in abundance. Think of it.
Think of it. So, the Lord will want us to come to this awareness that he is the father of mercies. Having mercy, loving kindness, pity, compassion, he has it in abundance.
And not only will he want us to come to this awareness and to come to this knowledge, he will want us to come to the point where we begin to tap and where we begin to enjoy this, his untapped resources. Oh, some time ago, if you were here in the Watchman about 1991, we had a particular quarterly conference seminar titled the untapped resources. And then it was shown that the resources of God are inexhaustible, unquantifiable.
The more you tap, the more you find out that you have not tapped because it will continue to flow. And so, the Lord will want us to come to this point where we will not only be aware of the fact that he has mercy in abundance, but we come to the point where we will begin to tap from this, his inexhaustible resources. Now, when you go into the Bible, you will find out what his mercies can do.
Don’t you know that through his mercies, there is forgiveness of sins? Through his mercies, sin, no matter how big, no matter how terrible, if you draw, if you tap from his abundant mercy, your sin will be forgiven. Your sin will be thrown into the river of forgetfulness. Listen, listen, he will not only forgive the sin, but he will wipe it out.
He said he will wipe it out like a thick cloud. He will blot it out. You know that he can forgive you and still keep record of your sin.
But his mercies makes him to forgive and at the same time to blot it out. And then he said, your sins and your iniquities, I remember them no more. Long ago, there was this young girl, and they were saying that the girl used to hear the voice of God, that God used to speak to him, to her.
And then the leaders of the church in those days, long, long, long ago, needed to go and check to know whether really this girl hears the voice of the Lord. And then the bishop called the girl and said, I heard that God used to speak to you. He said, yes.
And he said, go and ask God. Let God tell you the last sin that I confessed. He wanted to know whether God was speaking to the lady.
Go and ask him to tell you the last sin that I confessed. And the lady went and came back and said that God had answered and that God said he did not remember. He did not remember the sin you confessed last.
Well, maybe the girl was saying the truth. Maybe she was not saying the truth. But the scriptures have said that your sins and your iniquities, I will do what, I remember them no more.
The multitude of his messes does that. In Psalm 51, Psalm 51, we read verse number one. Have mercy upon me.
O God, according to thy lovingkindness, according unto the multitude of thy tender messes, do what? Blot out what? My transgression. He didn’t even say cleanse. He didn’t even say wash.
He said what? Blot. The multitude of your tender messes is what I’m taking advantage of. I have sinned.
I committed adultery. I committed murder. The blood of Uriah the Hittite is crying before you.
The way the blood of Heber cried against Cain. I know it Lord, but I come. I want to take advantage of your messes.
The multitude of your tender messes. And so Lord, do what? Blot it out. Was his sins blotted out? And what did Nathan the prophet say? Nathan says, your sins are forgiven.
You will not die. He was supposed to die because the two sins he committed carried a capital punishment. One, if they catch you committing adultery, they will stone you to death.
So he committed adultery. Two, the Bible said thou shall not kill. He that sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed.
So he was to die for these two evils. But Nathan said, you will not die. And he didn’t die because he took advantage of the multitude of his tender messes.
So are you here in church? Have you come to church who came with iniquity? You are laden with iniquity, laden with unrighteousness. The way a sheep is laden with containers on the high sea, that is how you are laden with iniquity. Iniquity of various kinds, iniquity of various magnitudes.
If you take advantage of his messes, if you take advantage of the multitude of his tender messes, if you approach him as the father of messes, iniquities will be blotted out. Let’s hear Paul the Apostle in First Timothy chapter one. What did Paul say? First Timothy chapter number one.
I read verse 12 and 13. And I thank Christ Jesus, our Lord, who had enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry, who was before a blasphemer and a persecutor and injurious. But I did what? I obtained mercy from the father of messes, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
Verse 15. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am what? Chief. You are chief of sinners.
But the multitude of his messes flushed it out, blotted it out, and he became a new creature. And he experienced the salvation, the act of God’s grace, whereby a sinner is forgiven, whereby a sinner is justified, whereby a sinner is freed from the power of sin. These three things happen at salvation.
Forgiveness, you will not be punished again. Justification, you are discharged and acquitted, and you have freedom from sin. If it has not happened to you, if you have not gotten freedom from sin, you are not saved.
For sin shall not have dominion over you. And so, if anybody is looking for forgiveness from sin, salvation from sin, you need to take advantage of the multitude of his messes as you go to the father of messes. Friends, is anybody looking for restoration? Is anybody looking for favor? Is anybody looking for preservation? Is anybody looking for miracles? Is anybody looking for interventions? Take advantage of the multitude of his messes by approaching the father of messes.
His messes will flow in abundance. And when his messes begins to flow, the table will turn. Reversals will take place.
Miracles will occur. Healings will take place. Enemies will be put to flight.
Enemies will be decimated. Things that are not working will begin to work. Doors that are closed will open.
When his messes begins to speak, favors will be given to people. Even people that have court case. Even people who are supposed to be guilty.
The Lord knows what to do and will turn that guilty verdict. And the individual will not be guilty again. For if the son of man shall set you free, you shall be free indeed.
In Lamentations chapter 3 and verse number 22, it is of the Lord’s messes, take it there, not messy, messes that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not. He’s repeating it. He used the word messes.
He used the word compassion. Of his messes that we are not consumed because his compassions fail not. In these days of insecurity, in these days when somebody is going out, is not sure of coming back home safe.
In these days when human life means nothing to some people. In these days of bloodletting and blood spilling, we need his messes. As you go out, you need his messes.
As you come back, you need his messes for your preservation, for your protection, for your children, for your husband, for your wife, for the members of your family. You need to be preserved and you can find the preservation as you approach the father of messes. In Philippians chapter 2 and verse number 25 to 26, yet I suppose it necessary to send to you a prophet my brother and companion in labor and fellow soldier that your messenger and he that ministered to my ones for he longed after you all and was full of heaviness because that you had heard that he had been sick.
Verse 27, for indeed he was sick nigh unto death but what God had mercy on him and not on him only but on me also least I should that sickness was to kill him that sickness was to send him out of this planet but the messes of the Lord spoke. Paul said God had mercy upon Epaphras, Epaphroditus, and not only to him to me also because had he died I would be swallowed up with sorrow because of the role of this young man in my life. So it was the mercy of God that preserved the young man that made him not to die.
I made him not to kick the bucket. It was the mercy of God that spared him and they continued to live. Have the enemy risen up against you? Are you surrounded by enemies? Both human and spirit beings.
The mercy of God can speak and when the mercy of God speaks those enemies will be decimated. Have you forgotten what happened in the day of Jehoshaphat when three nations greater and mightier than Judah came against Judah and the prophet prophesied look at what happened in second chronicles chapter 20 the prophet prophesied that God was going to give them victory and verse 21 and 22 and when Jehoshaphat consulted with the people he appointed singers unto the Lord and I should praise the beauty of holiness as they went out to praise before the army and to say praise the Lord for his mercy endured forever and when they began to sing and to praise the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon Moab and Mount Seir which were come against Judah and they were smiting. Wait a minute, have you seen people going to battle and they encouraged us we are leading the battle? Have you ever seen such? The appropriateness to bring in warriors, experts, men who are skilled in handling the weapons of war.
You put them in the forefront so as to go and confront the enemies but in this case they brought the music ministers and they came with their instruments of music and they began to sing no other song. Which song did they sing? The Lord is good and his mercy endured forever. The Lord is good and his mercy endured forever.
The Lord is good and his mercy endured forever and they were in the forefront and the soldiers were coming behind and as they were singing he that seated upon the throne was shaking his head and was shaking his head and was shaking his head to the point that he was aroused and when he was aroused he rose up and you know that when God rises up all his enemies will be scattered. Dead ahead the Lord will be smiting. They will flee before him like chaff before the wind and they will melt like wax before the fire.
That’s what happened. They appealed to his mercies. They drew from his mercies and he showed himself strong and so my friends you can tap from his mercies.
I don’t know what you are passing through. I don’t know the problem that brought you to church but I want to tell you you can tap. So what do you do? And I round up.
Plead for his mercy like Moses pleaded. In that situation the Lord pleaded for his mercies. Lord I need your mercy.
Lord show your mercy. Lord let your mercy flow. What did Moses do? We don’t have time but bear with me.
Let’s read. Numbers chapter 14 verse 11 to 20. God have decided to wipe the people out.
Verse 11 of number chapter 14 and the Lord said unto Moses how long will these people provoke me and how long will he be before they believe me for all the signs which I have shown among them. I will smite them with the pestilence and disherit them and we make up be a greater nation and mightier than they. And Moses said unto the Lord then the Egyptians will hear it for thou broughtest up these people in thy might from among them and they will tell it to the inhabitants of the land for they have heard that thou Lord among these people that the Lord has seen face to face and that thy cloud standeth over them and that thou goest before them by day time in a pillar of cloud and in a pillar of fire by night.
Now if thou shall kill all these people as one man then the nations which have had the fame of thee will speak saying because the Lord was not able to bring these people into the land with his way unto them therefore he had slain them in the wilderness. And now I beseech thee let the power of my God be great according as thou has spoken. Now look at what Moses was pleading.
The Lord is long-suffering and of what great mercy forgiving iniquity and transgression and by no means clearing the guilty visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. Pardon I beseech thee the iniquity of these people according unto what the greatness of thy mercy and as thou has forgiven these people from Egypt unto now and the Lord said what I have pardon according to what thy word which word which word he told him to pardon according to the greatness of water his mercy. Say be you say that you are merciful say be you say that you are long-suffering now we want to see that we are messy you know oppression forgive these people and he spoke and God permit me to say God could not wriggle out of what he said because Moses said the truth and nothing but water the truth you know God is hinged to his word the way the door is hinged to the frame of the door he can’t separate him from his word so do you have any matter plead his message like Moses did cry like a blind Bathymos and the Canaanites women did you know blind Bathymos in Mark chapter 10 verse 46 to 52 and the Syro-Phoenician woman in Matthew chapter 15 21 to 28 thou son of David do what have mercy upon me have mercy upon me no long prayer no much talk have mercy upon me look at my case show me compassion pity me and the people came and told him keep your mouth short he said to them go behind me I will not keep my mouth short all of you have your eyes you see your mother you see your father you see your brothers you see your sisters you see your children me I no see anything and then you are telling me to keep quiet when I have opportunity opportunity of getting what I am looking for son of David have mercy upon me he cried the more and the master stopped when you cry the master will stop the master was going to somewhere but he cried not only did he call him son of David but he pleaded he pleaded for his mercy that is so great the mercy that is looking for where to express we are to release oh he was like a mother you know a mother when you give birth to a child before you give birth to a child when by the time you are just pregnant a signal will be sent to the milk industry in the body to start the production of milk because the baby is coming in nine months time to suck the breast and the milk industry begins to produce and then after some time a baby is born and then the industry the factory is producing more milk expecting that the baby should suck and ask mothers ask mothers there comes a time when the milk will gather and gather and gather and if the baby refuses to suck it the mother will be uncomfortable am i right so jesus was full of mercy looking for where to offload and when baptimus cried he stopped who is pleading for mercy who is that person go and call him for me and they called baptimus and they turned to him and said what do you want me to do for you he said lord that i might do what receive my side he said come on do what take it and he took it and his eyes got opened come on you are going to get his message if you cry like blind baptimus you will get it the side of an israel woman the canaanitish woman her daughter was sick the same thing he she cried and by that time jesus was only ministering to the jews and when that woman cried jesus said i am not sent but only to the lost sheep of the house of israel and the woman cried them all and jesus said the bread that is meant for the children should not be given to the dogs and the woman said yes lord that even the dogs eat from the crumbs that fall from the children’s table and you know that when the children are eating in the table some crumbs will be falling down and sometimes some children because of their love for dogs will be dropping something purposefully for the dogs and for the dogs to eat and the woman began to make that argument have mercy upon me and he looked at her and said woman my daughter is healed go away she pleaded for mercy and the mercy of the lord spoke the next thing is we need to learn and depend on his mercy and fall into his hands like david you know i don’t have time again but you know what happened in second samuel chapter 24 after david have numbered the people and have seen and his mind his heart smoothing in the morning and then he said lord i have seen and the next thing was prophet god coming to him and saying god have sent me to you because of what you did there are three things he wants me to tell you to choose from three punishments he mentioned number one he mentioned number two he mentioned number three and told him to choose one choose one punishment and david said no choose anyone he said let me fall into the hands of the lord for he is of great mercies so i don’t know what we are passing through but i want to say to you that you can fall into the hands of the lord you can come before him like david and say i fall into your hands you say let me fall into the hands of the lord and let me fall into the hands of men why okay let’s read it because it’s good we read second samuel chapter 24 and the verse number 10 and david’s heart smooth him after that he had numbered the people and david said unto the lord i have seen greatly in that i have done and now i beseech thee oh lord take away the iniquity of thy servant for i have done very foolishly for when david was up in the morning the word of the lord came unto the prophet god the bc are saying go and say unto david thus sayeth the lord i offer thee three things choose thee one of them that i may do it unto thee so god came to david and told him and said unto him shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land that’s number one or without fleet three moons before thy enemies while they that’s number two or that there be three days pestilence in the land now advice and see what answer i shall return to him that sent me and david said unto god i am in a great state i am confused let us fall now into the hand of the lord why why for his macy’s are water great and let me not fall into the hand of man his macy’s are great he is rich in mercy yes he has decided to punish me but he is merciful let me fall into his hands and that’s what we need at such a time like this to fall into the hands of the living god and to always depend on his mercy when we go this way by faith he will respond because he is still sitting on his messy seat and as long as he is still sitting on his messy seat messy will continue to flow he will not hold it he will not hold his macy’s can a woman forsake her suckling child that she should not be compassionate to the son of her you say yeah they may some women may because in the book of kings one woman and another woman agreed together to kill their children and eat so they forsook so they may because they have come under a terrible distressing situation but i the almighty god will not and so are you in any situation are you in any matter in any distress are you in pain afflicted in lack are you disturbed are you better your health has gone so bad things are not working your children are causing you high blood pressure your husband is not helping matters your wife is a thorn in your flesh the problems of life are there your medical report is not encouraging the business is not showing any sign of recovery we have just entered 2025 and this is just the fourth month and half of your capital has gone you have lost it already and you don’t know which way to go you can’t feed your children you can’t take care of your family to pay your house rent is a problem you have been giving promises to your landlord promise upon promise and now when you know that the landlord is coming you go and hide because you have promised and failed and promised and failed things are not working but i want to tell you that when his message speaks things will work closed doors will open there will be intervention things will become okay things will be normalized life will become better blessings will flow a change will occur it will not take him out joseph was in prison for many many many years in egypt but it was on a particular night only one night a pharaoh saw a dream only that dream that pharaoh dreamt that was what changed situation so god cannot give dreams again so god cannot talk to people about you again i remember some time ago when things were so bad when i lost everything that i had and it was difficult for me to eat really difficult to eat he was giving dreams to people a sister came to me and says ah my husband dreamt a dream about you and the dream was bad and he prayed for you but after praying he asked me to go and ask you what is the meaning of this dream and what is the dream she said i my husband came into your house and saw you i saw a plate of gary prepared on the table but no soup with which to eat the gary and he saw you lying down on the bed yearning because of hunger what is the meaning of this dream i told her to go and tell her husband to tell her that i said what you saw is the situation on ground and that was the truth things were bad and god gave him a dream and told him to send something to me immediately and he sent a package that was long ago 29 30 years ago i know another sister she may be hearing my voice now she came to me asking me some questions asking me a lot of questions and i was not forthcoming in answering her and she said wait can i tell you something as you stand preaching god will ask me to look into your eyes and as i look into your eyes god will be asking me can’t you see hunger in his eyes can’t you see hunger in his eyes that’s the question god have been asking me so i want to know what is this it was when she said this thing that i opened my mouth to tell her what i was experiencing and the lord said to her package something i sent to him and when she brought it i refused to take it until i went to prayer and the lord said to me i am the one who sent it and so god can still send dreams god can still make people know how it is with you god can still talk to people about you and let them know how it is with you so as to help you his mercy will speak on your behalf his mercy will speak for when his mercy speaks people that said no we say yes i repeat closed doors will open i repeat there will be a turn around even things that are not working will begin to walk and some terrible situations and circumstances will be reversed by his power let his mercy do what speak and so today we want to approach the father of mercies and to ask him daddy let your mercy speak you can’t hold your mercy you are born well of compassion the good samaritan when he saw the man that was beaten down by the enemies by robbers what happened was he not touched was he not touched by the infirmity of the man was he not touched didn’t he see the wounds and the bruises that was given to the man and he collected him and carried him and sent him to somewhere and took care of him and deposited some money requesting that they should use it to take care of the man if they need more when he comes back he will pay so the good samaritan is better than jesus the good samaritan is better than the master he is touched by the feeling of the man that was wounded by the enemy but jesus will not be touched by the feeling of the wounded people he will not be touched by your pain all the cry in the night all the weeping in the night all the prayers all the calling upon the name of the lord his bowels will not be moved he is not touched at all he is not the one i am following the one i am following is the one that is touched by the feelings of the infirmities of his people he will not hoard his resources can i show you a scripture and then we pray proverbs chapter three proverbs chapter number three he will not hoard it proverbs chapter three i want to read verse 27 and the verse number 28 which says withhold not good from them to whom it is due when it is in the power of thy hand to do it say not unto thy neighbor go and come again and tomorrow i will give when thou has it by thee meaning don’t do your neighbor turn turn don’t tell him okay go tomorrow you’ll come back but what he is looking for you have it that is what god said so god will not obey his word so god will not obey his word he will tell us what to do but he will not he will obey his word he will obey his word he will not withhold his mercy he will not withhold his goodness he is abundant in mercy he is rich in mercy he is the father of messes he is the source he is the fountain he is the originator of messes will he sell his messes is it for sale if it is for sale where will you get the money with which to buy it is free it is a free gift from the lord and so today if you have any person here and is looking for god looking for intervention looking for miracles looking for healing looking for salvation looking for deliverance looking for freedom let the person open her heart let the person open his heart and say to the lord thou son of david have mercy upon me have mercy upon me the way a blind baptist cried the way the syrophoenician woman cried fall into his hands the way david fell into his hands and said let me fall into the hands of god for he is of a great message if anybody do that if anybody cries if anybody takes advantage of his message this blessed day his mercy will speak and then his message will look at you and there will be a turnaround today the music ministers have come and are going to sing from hymn number 83 talking to the lord and as they begin to sing i need no other plea it is enough that jesus died and that his death is enough for me that is what i am holding i am holding on the horns of the altar i am holding on the horns of the altar i am only depending on him on his death on the cross let his message be released and let look at me if anybody will pray with all his heart show me a mercy lord today is the day of mercy i will not remembering his resurrection he died his blood was spewed and he died so that the mercy of god will be released and now that he has died god will not hold his message but the message will be released now hear the song and pray to the lord asking him show me your message come on no other argument it is enough that jesus died and that they died for me that’s why the mercy of god went to the least come on please for me I come to Him.
He’ll never cast me out. I need no other. It is enough that Jesus died and that He died for me.
My heart is clean, it’s printed with the blood. Salvation by my Savior’s name. Salvation through His blood.
I need no other. It is enough that Jesus died and that He died for me. He grants rescission in His mercy.
The lost He came to save. For me His precious blood He shed. For me His life He gave.
I need no other. It is enough that Jesus died and that He died for me. I need no other.
It is enough that Jesus died and that He died for me. I need no other. I need no other plea.
It is enough that Jesus died and that He died for me. Show me your mercy. I say show me your mercy.
You are the producer of mercy. You are the owner of mercy. You are the God of mercy.
Show me your mercy. I need your mercy. Show me your mercy.
I say show me your mercy. You are the producer of mercy. You are the owner of mercy.
Show me your mercy. Show me your mercy. And receive His mercies.
Call upon Him for His mercies. Tell Him to have mercy upon you. Tell Him I want Your mercy to locate me.
Son of David have mercy upon me. Blind Bathimold did not speak much grammar. And the master understood.
And showed him His mercy. Have mercy Lord. Have mercy Lord.
Have mercy Lord. Show us your mercies. Where should I go? To whom shall we go? To whom shall we go? Who will show us mercy? Who will give us compassion? Who will show us love and kindness? Where could I go but to the Lord? Where could I go? To whom shall we go? Leading a friend to save me in the end.
Where could I go but to the Lord? Wait a minute. Maybe you have an alternative. You have an alternative.
You have an alternative. If you don’t have alternative, then you will lean on Him. Then you will rely on Him.
Then you will depend on Him. Like the songwriter, you are telling Him, Thou must save and Thou alone. If you refuse to save, if you refuse to show mercy, if you refuse to show favor, if you refuse to show love and kindness, if you refuse to pity me, if you refuse to show me compassion, I am already a dead man.
No alternative. Ask Him to show you mercy. Let His mercy locate you.
Let His mercy locate you. Let His mercies locate you. He is the father of mercies.
Not just a merciful God, not just a merciful father, though that is what He is, but He is the father of mercies. The producer, the progenitor, the fountain, the originator, the womb that produces mercy. Lord, it will not cost you anything to show mercy.
So show mercy. Show mercy, Lord. Show mercy, Lord.
Mercy in all its ramifications. Show mercy, Lord. Show mercy, Lord.
Show mercy, Lord. Release your mercy. There is always something that brings me to your presence, my helper.
I say there is always something that brings me to your presence, my helper. I say there is always something that brings me to your presence, my helper. I say my helper, oh.
My helper. My helper, oh. My helper.
There is always something that brings me to your presence, my helper. There is always something that brings me to your presence, my helper. Something brought us into your presence.
We are needy people, Lord. We are like blind batimos. We need something and we can’t get it from any other place and from any other person except from you.
And so, Lord, show me your mercy. Show us your mercies. We need your mercy.
We need your mercies. Batimos did not speak much grammar. Batimos did not understand anything about our problem.
The only thing they wanted was for him to see again. And he knew that if your mercy locates him, his eyes will be opened again. And so, Lord, we don’t need to know how you will do it.
We don’t need to know the mechanisms you will use. But one thing we are requesting is, do it. Do it once again.
Do it once again. You do it once again. You do it once again.
Jehovah, do it once again. Jehovah, do it once again. I said Jehovah, do it once again.
I said Jehovah, do it once again. I am what I am. I’m from Jamaica.
You will do it again. You will do it now. Do it once again.
Do it. I’ll do it again. You’ll do it again.
Do it now. Do it once again. Do it now.
Do it once again. Do it now. Do it once again.
It’s me. It’s me, oh Lord. Standing in the need of you.
It’s me. It’s me, oh Lord. I am standing in the need of you.
It’s me. It’s me. It’s me, oh Lord.
Standing in the need of you. It’s me. It’s me.
It’s me, oh Lord. Standing in the need of you. It’s me.
It’s me. It’s me. It’s me.
It’s me. It’s me. It’s me.
It’s me. It’s me. You will not keep quiet.
Let your mercy speak. Let your mercy speak. Let your mercy speak in favor of your children.
This Egyptian bondage will not continue. This Egyptian bondage will not continue. This Egyptian trouble will not continue.
Let today be the day of Passover. Let today be a day of Passover. While the Egyptians are crying, the Israelis are rejoicing.
While there is death in the camp of the Egyptians, blood flowing, another blood will flow in the camp of the Israelis. Even the blood of the lamb. And the blood of the lamb has been spilled already.
And today we are commemorating the resurrection of the lamb. For this reason Lord, the power in the blood will be released for that is the blood that speaketh better things more than that of a bell. And I know one thing for sure Lord, on that day the blood of Abel cried to Cain’s condemnation.
Say you punish him for the evil he did. May the blood of the lamb be speaking better things. Speaking freedom, speaking salvation, speaking emancipation, speaking mercy.
And so Lord I pray this hour unto you saying, let your mercy flow, let your mercy flow, let your mercy flow into the congregation. And let everybody receive mercies in the name of Jesus. The mercy I’m looking for may not be the mercy she’s looking for.
What I’m demanding may not be what he is demanding. But you know what each and every one of us is demanding. Because you can listen to one billion people at the same time and your brain will not be confused.
And so Lord have on listening to us. Have on heard our cries like blind Bathymos. Let your mercies locate your people.
Let your mercies locate your people. One by one from person to person, person to person, person to person, person to person. From house to house, from house to house.
From this parish to this parish. From this district to this district. From this diocese to this diocese.
From this nation to this nation. Let your mercies locate your people. In the name of Jesus Christ.
I say then we shout again. Shout of joy. Then we shout again.
Shout of joy. Shout again. You have found mercy.
Then we shout again. You have found mercy. You have found mercy.
Say I have found mercy. I have found mercy. Shout it, shout it now.
I have found mercy. Shout it, shout it again. I have found mercy.
You have found mercy. I have found mercy. God says that Lord.
